After the First Light

This was taken just after sunrise at Pakiri Beach.

The sun had already broken the horizon, but the world was still settling into the day. The tide moved in gently. The light hung low and golden, softening everything it touched.

What I love here is the quiet.

The horizon almost disappears into haze. The water and sky blend into one tone. And in the distance, a few keen fisher birds work the shoreline — small, deliberate movements in an otherwise vast and open frame.

There’s nothing dramatic here. No big moment.

Just space. Warmth. Breath.
