Between friends

This photograph was taken in Agonda, Goa, India, while wandering the streets between work commitments.

Nothing staged.
Nothing asked for.

Just two women sitting together — mid-conversation, mid-gesture — sharing something that doesn’t need an audience.

What drew me in was the familiarity of it.
The raised hand.
The way one listens while the other speaks.
A moment that could exist anywhere, yet feels unmistakably of its place.

India is full of sensation — colour, noise, heat, smell — and yet within all of that intensity, moments like this are quietly grounded. Ordinary. Human.

The image reveals itself slowly.
At first it’s colour and texture.
Then posture.
Then connection.

This is a photograph that works in shared spaces — offices, studios, places where people pass through and pause.

Not demanding attention, but rewarding it.
