Facing North

This photograph was taken on Pakiri Beach, looking north with the sun at my back.

The light was already climbing, softer behind me, leaving the sea ahead cooler and more measured. The mist still lingered, but the mood had shifted — less drama, more openness. The coastline stretched gently into the distance, waves moving in clean, repeating lines.

What I’m drawn to here is how familiar ground can feel entirely different with a small change in direction. Same beach. Same morning. A completely new conversation between land, water, and light.

This image carries a quieter confidence. It works well in spaces meant for pause and reflection — bedrooms, studies, or living areas where the day begins slowly and light matters.
