Held between them, Mumbai

This photograph was taken on a street in Mumbai, early one morning before work.

I was across the road when I noticed them — two children absorbed in their own world, playing with whatever they had at hand. No performance. No awareness of being seen.

What stays with me is the tenderness of it.
The attention.
The care in the exchange.
