This is the city where I live.

I took this photograph on a scooter ride with the kids, heading out into Westhaven Marina. No plan. No rush. Just moving slowly, stopping when the view felt right.

Auckland is photographed endlessly — usually from above, or from the water, or with a sense of scale that tries to explain it.

This isn’t that.

From here, the city feels lived in.
Boats resting. Buildings mid-conversation with the sky. The Sky Tower present, but not dominant. Reflections softening everything.

It’s the Auckland you pass through with your kids.
The one you notice between errands.
The one that feels familiar, imperfect, and quietly grounding.
