Lightfall

Captured in Sydney during Vivid, this photograph draws you into one of the festival’s immersive light installations. I often timed trips to coincide with Vivid — not to document the spectacle, but to find moments where structure, repetition, and light briefly aligned into something quieter and more abstract.

The downward pull of the illuminated lines creates a sense of depth and motion, almost like stepping into a suspended space. Cool tones dominate, but subtle variations in brightness and spacing give the image rhythm and breath. It’s less about the event itself and more about the feeling of standing inside light — surrounded, absorbed, and momentarily disoriented in the best way.

This piece works particularly well in a modern living space, stairwell, or office environment — somewhere with clean lines and architectural intent — where its depth and directional energy can add a sense of movement and contemporary edge without overwhelming the room.
