The Bridge Home

Taken in St Louis, Senegal, this photograph was made while crossing one of the city’s many bridges at the end of a long day. I stopped as the setting sun picked up the highlights in the steel structure, softening the hard lines and pulling the eye down the length of the walkway.

The perspective creates a sense of movement and pause at the same time — the river beside you, the city ahead, and the quiet moment in between. The image balances soft light with strong geometry, capturing a fleeting sense of transition that felt worth standing still for.

This piece works particularly well in a hallway, entryway, or transitional space — somewhere you pass through rather than linger — where its perspective and light can subtly echo movement and arrival.
