Tide, Rangitoto

Taken from Takapuna Beach looking out toward Rangitoto, this image uses a tripod and neutral density filters to slow the scene down and reveal the movement usually missed in daylight.

The rocks remain fixed and tactile while the tide moves around them — flowing, receding, and reshaping the shoreline in soft, continuous motion. What feels busy to the eye becomes measured and deliberate when time is stretched.
