Under the Bridge

This photograph was taken after a long day at work, walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge toward Kirribilli. It’s a view I’ve returned to many times — the city behind you, the harbour below, and the bridge itself revealing its structure in a completely different way once the lights come on.

What drew me in here was the angle. Standing beneath the bridge, you begin to see its scale and precision — steel, rivets, and geometry illuminated against the night sky. The Opera House and city lights sit quietly beyond, grounding the image in place without competing for attention.

There’s a sense of transition in this photograph — moving away from the intensity of the day and back toward something slower. It’s both architectural and personal, capturing a familiar walk that never quite feels the same twice.
