Vivid Dreams

Taken during Sydney’s Vivid Festival of Light.

It was one of those moments where you simply stop and look up.

Hundreds of illuminated forms suspended above, glowing in soft pinks, blues, greens, and violets. Floating against the dark. Shifting gently as people moved beneath them. It felt less like an installation and more like stepping inside a dream.

I took this around the same time as Lightfall. There’s something about being surrounded by light that changes your sense of scale. The ceiling disappears. The city fades. You’re momentarily transported.

What I love here is the contrast — delicate shapes suspended in black space. Colour against void. Chaos that somehow feels calm.

This piece works beautifully in contemporary interiors, creative studios, or spaces that benefit from colour and energy without losing sophistication. It draws the eye upward and outward.
