Where the Day Lets Go

This photograph was taken at Pakiri Beach at sunset, looking north as the light softened and the tide pulled back.

Unlike the stillness of early morning, this moment carried a different kind of calm. The sky held its warmth, while the sand and water shifted toward blue — the low tide revealing texture, pattern, and quiet movement across the shoreline.

What drew me in was the contrast. Warm light overhead. Cool reflections below. The beach stretching wider than usual, offering space rather than drama. It’s the same place, but with a completely different mood — less about anticipation, more about release.
